Divisional, district and upazila level offices perform routine functions according to the schedule set by Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics. For the needs of government and policy makers, Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics conducts census and survey work. Recent activities of the Sherpur District Statistics Office are as follows (excluding calendar):
Agriculture and Rural Statistics Survey
The survey data was collected from April 15, 2018 to 03 May, 018 in Sherpur district. The Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics conducts a variety of surveys on regular basis and adhoc basis. According to the Labor Force survey-2013, 41% of the total manpower employed in the agriculture sector and 52% employed in the Palli. But the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics is going to administer agriculture and rural statistics survey-2011 for the first time on ad-hoc basis. This survey was conducted for the month of April-2016. Through survey, it will be possible to find out the targets of the 7th Five Year Plan, important indicators related to the livelihood of the people of rural areas. The information collected through this survey will help in formulating a plan and creating a fair and realistic program for the development of agriculture in rural areas.
Objectives: The purpose of this survey is to reduce the scope of the district based socio-economic status, employment, agricultural wage and its working hours, land ownership and its use, empowerment of women, opportunities for men and women, agricultural inputs, agricultural equipment, agricultural product sales and prices, crops Establish statistics related to the loss of the Kennono, agricultural loans and its use.
Weaving Census-2014
On 01-05 April, 008, zonal operation of handgun census-018 was conducted in Sherpur district. The census data will be collected in May-2018.
Objectives
• Creating a sample basis or sample structure for future survey management by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics and other organizations.
• Gain ideas about the current state of weaving industry.
• Determine the problems and opportunities of the loom industry.
• Determine the number of workers (male and female) of the total number of workers employed in the loom industry and the number of workers who are engaged in the rent and hired work.
• Assigning the skills of the workers / manpower employed in the loom industry and suggest strategies for increasing efficiency in production.
• Determine the number of total number of active and endless lumber industries in the country.
• Determine the annual load demand of cotton and thread cotton (numerically) and the total manpower (by type).
• Implement the loom industry's contribution in the national economy.
• Evaluate the working conditions of the workers engaged in weaving industry and the related economic condition.
Economic Institution related survey-2014
In 2013 the economic census was held in the whole country. In Sherpur district, in the Census-2013, survey of financial institutions from 117 units were collected through random data from the counting-related economic units. The survey data was collected from 11 March, 018 to March 20, 2018 at the field level.
Survey On Public Service Delivery-2014
The survey was conducted on the 5 services provided by the Deputy Commissioner's Office, Sherpur.
Citizen Household and Court User Survey - 018
The survey was conducted in the District Judge Court of Shenpur in February 018.
Objectives: Knowledge of the judicial system, neutrality and skill by collecting information related to experience and ideas about the criminal justice system of the citizens of Bangladesh.
This survey was conducted by the Ministry of Law and Parliamentary Affairs, proposed by GIZ.
Effective Coverage of Basic Social Services
This program was conducted in Sherpur district from 17 December, 2016 to 31 December, 2018. Monitoring the Situation of Vital Stesticities of Bangladesh (MSVSB), Local Women Registrars of the project, using tabs to monitor the use of demographic information, food water, sanitation, iodized salt, child violence, child marriage, birth registration, child feeding, feeding supplements , Early education and enthusiasm of the child, the healthcare of adolescent, 5-14 year olds Collect information about their studies, maternal and childbirth at institutional level, and iron folic acid tablets.
Monitoring the Situation of Vital Stastics of Bangladesh
Local Women Resisters from 13 (thirteen) sample areas of Sherpur district collect information about Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce, Arrival, Extinction Birth control, HIV H, through various schedule of the year.
National Highways Database Project
145 social security programs are being implemented through government ministries / divisions. Due to systemic weakness due to allocation of social security programs and increase in the number of collectibles, proper beneficiary selection is not possible. Under the Department of Statistics and Information Management, Bangladesh National Bureau of Statistics (NCD) has undertaken a project titled National Household Database (NHD) with the financial and technical support of the World Bank under the Department of Statistics and Information Bureau, in order to facilitate beneficial selection of appropriate social security programs and to help program more specifically and effectively.
Objectives
• A valuable database evaluation through the Khana-based demographic and other information of all the peoples of the country.
• Identification of poor and poor drought using database.
• Linking between various social security programs / projects and the integration
